Every verified pick commits, together with a one-press nonce, to a drand quicknet round that the gateway had not published yet on the path that press used — a different anycast backend may already have served it, which is the documented limit of the guarantee. The item is then derived deterministically from the round’s randomness, the nonce, the chooser and a draw index — so this page can recompute it independently, straight from the beacon. Visitor-made lists are fixed at creation and never change, so a pick on one recomputes forever, against the same list. Built-in lists ship with the site itself and can change when the site is updated, so a pick made before such an update may not recompute. One honest caveat for the old era: choosers created before lists became static (July 2026) rotated daily back then, including on the changeover day, so a pick from that era may not recompute either. That is an honest mismatch, not proof of rigging.
Dice links also carry the complete ordered tray and the target draw index. The verifier keeps each die’s displayed bound order as evidence, then orders only the target bounds for derivation.
